On Tuesday night Lincoln College split with Mott, MI. In game one Mott scored 5 in the 8th for a 10-6 victory, Kyle Peden picked up the loss for Lincoln College. Lincoln tied it up in the bottom of the seventh but had a the potential winning run picked off third with two outs to end the game. Coach Thomas said, “We battled back in this game after trailing, but too many little mistakes cost the close game to get away from us.”
Game two was another back and forth game, with the Lynx plating two runs in the top of the 6th to take a 5-4 lead. Jakob Thomas came in for a two inning save in his first appearance of the season and AJ Jackson earned his first collegiate win. Tyler Gudat picked up three more hits in this game. Coach Thomas said, “We again had to fight for every run and eventually pulled out the win.” Lincoln College’s record improves to 3-1.
The Lynx return to action on Thursday, March 22 with what will be their toughest test in the early season as they will take on defending national champion and pre-season #1 Glouster, NJ at 9am and Community College of Rhode Island, who also is receiving national votes in the pre-season poll, at 11am.
