Baseball team helps raise money with donations
The Lincoln College men’s baseball team helped the Lincoln Emblem Club #433 raise over $13,000 for their annual Emblem Club Christmas Bazaar and Auction held at the Lincoln Elks Country Club ballroom in November.
On Tuesday, March 10th the Lynx baseball took on Mott Community College, Michigan with the Lynx once again splitting the spring trip doubleheader.

Lynx Baseball Split Opener on Spring Trip
The Lincoln College men’s baseball team split with Lansing Community College (Michigan) on Monday, March 9th losing game one 5-2. Ryan Schulz (Olympia) was the losing pitcher going 5 innings allowing 4 runs, 2 earned. Head Coach Tony Thomas said, “Ryan threw a very good game for his first college start but was not helped by the sluggish offense in game #1.” Game two saw three pitchers combine for 7 innings 9 hits, 6 runs, 2 earned. Avery Whiteside (Jackson, Mo) picked up his first win with Ryan Sloan (Lincoln) picking up the save. The Lynx produced 7 runs on just 8 hits with three runs in the bottom of seventh after trailing 6-4. Justin Steinbrunner (Chicago) was 2-3 and Justin Renoud (Jacksonville) picked up three RBI.

Lynx Baseball Takes 3 out of 4 from Spoon River
The Lincoln College baseball team took three out of four from Spoon River over the weekend. After dropping game one by a score of 6-2, the Lynx bounced back to take the next three games by scores of 4-2, 8-2, and 11-7. Coach Thomas said, “We played with more consistency overall this weekend in all phases of the game.”
Taking the wins on the mound were John Fisher in game two, Jakob Thomas in game three, and AJ Jackson in game four. TJ Carter launched a game-winning, two-run, walk-off home run in game two for the Lynx. The bats came alive on Sunday with the Lynx collecting 10 hits in game three of the series and 14 hits in game four.

LC Baseball Splits MWAC Series with Lewis & Clark
The Lincoln College baseball team split a four-game conference series with Lewis and Clark going 2-2. On Saturday at Godfrey the Lynx lost game one 10-2 and rebounded with a 7-6 win in game two. On Sunday in Lincoln the Lynx lost game one 7-4 and won game two 6-5.

AJ Jackson picked up the win going three innings as the Lincoln College baseball team improved to 6-3 overall.

LC Baseball Improve to 3-1 on Spring Trip in Florida
On Tuesday night Lincoln College split with Mott, MI. In game one Mott scored 5 in the 8th for a 10-6 victory, Kyle Peden picked up the loss for Lincoln College. Lincoln tied it up in the bottom of the seventh but had a the potential winning run picked off third with two outs to end the game. Coach Thomas said, “We battled back in this game after trailing, but too many little mistakes cost the close game to get away from us.”
Game two was another back and forth game, with the Lynx plating two runs in the top of the 6th to take a 5-4 lead. Jakob Thomas came in for a two inning save in his first appearance of the season and AJ Jackson earned his first collegiate win. Tyler Gudat picked up three more hits in this game. Coach Thomas said, “We again had to fight for every run and eventually pulled out the win.” Lincoln College’s record improves to 3-1.

LC Baseball Drop First Round Game
Springfield, IL – After trailing ICC 7-0 after three innings, the Lincoln College baseball team battled back but couldn’t make it all the way back as they dropped a Region 24 first round game 7-6 on Thursday at Lanphier Park in Springfield, IL. The Lynx face Danville Area College on Friday in an elimination game at 12:00pm at Lanphier Park. If Lincoln can win Friday, they will play again on Saturday at 12:00pm.
Springfield, IL – The Lincoln College baseball team will open Region 24 tournament play on Thursday, May 16 against ICC at 4:00pm in Springfield, IL at Lanphier Park.

LC Baseball Sweeps Spoon River 3-1; 9-0
Lincoln, IL The Lincoln College baseball team swept Spoon River 3-1 and 9-0 to move to 18-16 on year. The Lynx received great pitching from Cody Bolen and Anthony Jerral. In game one Lincoln scored all three runs in the first and held on to take the win. In game two, Lincoln’s bats heated up scoring nine runs with Derek Breit providing the big blow with a grand slam.
Lincoln will take on Spoon River on Tuesday, ICC on Friday and Saturday and will be in Region 24 tournament action next Thursday, May 16 in Springfield, IL.
