Lincoln, IL – On Saturday, the Lynx hosted MWAC foe Danville Area College on Galen Shirley Field for a 9-inning & 7-inning doubleheader. LC’s Justin Renoud did all he could to give the Lynx a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past DACC as the hosts lost 6-2. Renoud had a hot bat for the Lynx going 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored. He singled in the first and tripled in the third inning.
Ryan Schulz ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision and was charged with the loss. Schulz worked eight innings, walking two, striking out one, and allowed five runs. After jumping out to an early 1-0 lead, Danville surrendered a run in the Lynx half of the third inning to tie the game at one apiece. Lynx pitching couldn’t hold on as DACC plated another run in the fifth inning to go up for good.
In game two, DACC shut out the Lynx 9-0. John Hinch was pinned with the loss for the Lynx allowing nine runs on 12 hits and five walks.
