The Lincoln College baseball team went 1-3 over the weekend against conference foe Lincoln Land. The Lynx took the opener in outstanding fashion winning 10-3. In game two, it took 11 innings for Lincoln Land to pull out the 2-1 victory despite great pitching performances from freshman Cody Bolen (Emden, IL) who went nine strong innings allowing only a single run. Although Lincoln got out of a bases loaded, no-out situation with the heart of of the LLCC order at the plate in the 10th, they couldn’t push another run across before eventually losing in the 11th inning 2-1.
In games three and four, the Lynx bats stayed asleep with a total of 11 hits on the day losing 6-1 and 2-0. Andrew Bietenduval (Cincinnati, OH) took the complete game loss in the 2-0 game. LC head coach Tony Thomas said, “Our pitching and defense was outstanding all week, but our offense could not come up with any run support after game 1.”
The next two scheduled games on Wednesday and Thursday of this week have already been canceled due to weather.
